Celebrity River Cruises Launch in 2027

Just in time for the 2027–2028 season, Celebrity River Cruises has found a way to meet surging guest interest in all-inclusive river cruises. In late January, the company announced plans to build 10 new ships, bringing its European river fleet to a total of 20 vessels by 2031. Currently under construction, the Celebrity Compass and Celebrity Seeker will launch the inaugural 2027 season, which reportedly sold out in under two hours.

The announcement underscores both strong traveler demand and Celebrity’s confidence in river cruising as a viable area for growth. With this expansion, Celebrity continues blending its upscale style with the intimate, destination-rich world of river cruising, giving both new and seasoned guests an elevated travel experience. 

Now Open for Booking

Although 2027 has sold out, there are more than 160 European itineraries open for booking during 2028. This includes 24 new ports located within in-demand regions, such as the Lower Danube in Bucharest and Amstel River in the Netherlands.

Where You Can Cruise

Each of the new, all-inclusive river cruise itineraries will traverse along some of Europe’s most iconic rivers, showcasing each area’s unique culture, history, and scenery:

• Lower Danube: Explore Romania’s picturesque waterways, including a Celebrity-first overnight stay in Bucharest and passage through the Iron Gates gorge.
• Upper Danube: Travel across Germany, Austria, and Hungary. Guests voyaging in late summer will also have a chance to attend Gäubodenvolksfest, one of Germany’s largest festivals.
• Rhine River: Choose from over 60 departures between Basel and Amsterdam, weaving through storied vineyards, castles, and riverside towns.
• Dutch Tulip Season: Experience the world-famous tulips of Keukenhof Gardens in Amsterdam at the height of the spring blooming season.
• Expanded Christmas Market Cruises: Visit festive holiday markets in the snow-dusted villages along the Rhine River in winter.

What to Expect On Board

Each new river ship will offer an expanded outdoor space for catching close-up views of historic castles and riverside towns. Other standout features include an exterior, stern-side infinity pool and cantilevered dining “pods” that protrude over the water. As for dining options, passengers can choose from eight onboard restaurants and bars, along with complimentary breakfast room service.

For accommodations, Celebrity provides a king-sized bed and a complimentary mini bar in all five of its stateroom categories. River View and Balcony staterooms will appeal to travelers who are both comfort and budget-minded. Guests who book the Infinite Veranda or Infinite Balcony suites can also enjoy elevated amenities, which include:
